Miss
Anya began her ballet studies at the Perm Ballet Academy in the former
Soviet Union and later studied at the Frundze Ballet Academy. Upon
graduation from Frundze, she performed with Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet
Theater as a principal dancer. After accepting an invitation to
become a principal dancer with the Donetsk Ballet, Miss Anya toured the
eastern United States. From 1994 to 1999, she was a principal
dancer with the Russian Ballet Theatre of Delaware, and in 1998 she was
a finalist in the International Ballet Competition held in Jackson,
Mississippi. Miss Anya is a featured guest artist and ballet
mistress with ballet companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic states and
performed roles in many of the great classical ballets including Swan
Lake, Giselle, Paquita, Sleeping Beauty, Chopiniana, Raymonda and the
Nutcracker. Her repetoire includes all the classical ballet roles
and many contemporary works by choreographers including Daniel
Baundendistel, Leslie Brown, Robert La Fosse, Scott Jovovich and Matthew
Neenan. In October 2008 she represented the USA at the First
Posviachenie International Convention in St. Petersburgh, Russia. She has honored
us with her dancing in our production of The Nutcracker Ballet for the
past 14 years, and is married with a little girl; Maria. |
